Reduce session demand appropriately and allow client to settle before leaving.
Recovery &
Reassessment
Treatment belum lengkap bila technique berhenti. Practitioner perlu melihat semula target asal, memahami response client dan memberi next step yang jelas serta practical.
End the session with information.
Repeat a relevant baseline measure, movement or functional task.
Better, same or worse? Avoid claiming one session “fixed” a structure.
Decide what the client can do next and what requires follow-up.
Retest what mattered at the start.
Example: comfortable right neck rotation limited during driving-related task.
Compare range, quality, symptom response and client confidence.
Kalau objective asal ialah overhead reach, reassess overhead reach. Jangan tukar kepada finding lain hanya untuk menunjukkan treatment “berjaya”.
Three responses, three decisions.
Meaningful improvement in target → retain useful elements and progress appropriately.
No meaningful change → reconsider dose, intervention, target or whether more time/context is needed.
Reassess why. Modify or stop; screen safety if response is significant, unusual or concerning.
Session close-out worksheet
Home advice should be simple enough to follow.
Linked to the client's objective.
Fits real life, equipment and ability.
Clear starting amount and how to modify.
Client knows expected response and when to stop/seek help.
Quick Knowledge Check
Selepas intervention untuk limited shoulder elevation, apakah reassessment paling useful?
Client's target was comfortable sit-to-stand. Selepas intervention, task sedikit easier tetapi masih cepat fatigue.
Apa closing plan terbaik?
New or worsening concerning symptoms after treatment require reassessment rather than reassurance alone. Stop inappropriate activity and seek appropriate medical assessment when red flags are present. Document the response and advice given.
You can now build a purposeful treatment session.
Assessment → Objective → Preparation → Mobility → Targeted Intervention → Activation / Stretching / Strengthening → Recovery → Reassessment → Home Advice.
