Soft-Tissue
Techniques

Manual technique bukan tentang siapa boleh tekan paling kuat. Ia ialah controlled therapeutic input dengan objective yang jelas, consent, positioning yang baik dan response yang sentiasa dipantau.

01 · LEARN

Start with the objective — not the technique name.

COMFORT / PREPARATION

Gentle, broad contact may help introduce touch and observe tolerance.

LOCAL INPUT

More focused contact may be used when appropriate and within training.

MOVEMENT SUPPORT

Manual contact can accompany comfortable movement when it serves a clear objective.

REASSESSMENT

Retest the target finding instead of assuming tissue has been “fixed”.

02 · SEE

Five controls shape a manual technique.

01CONTACT

Broad or focused; stable and appropriate to area.

02PRESSURE

Start low, build only when appropriate and tolerated.

03DIRECTION

Deliberate, controlled and linked to the technique objective.

04TEMPO

Fast/slow is chosen intentionally, not randomly.

05DURATION

Enough to assess response; more time is not automatically better.

NO MAGIC DIRECTION

Elakkan claim bahawa satu arah pressure boleh “tolak toksin”, “betulkan tulang” atau “buka salur tersumbat”. Direction ialah parameter technique — bukan bukti claim fisiologi tersebut.

03 · UNDERSTAND

Positioning protects both people.

CLIENT

Supported, comfortable, appropriately draped, able to communicate and change consent.

↔
PRACTITIONER

Stable stance, neutral-enough working posture, use body weight appropriately and avoid unnecessary hand/thumb strain.

LIGHTMODERATEMORE INTENSEIncrease only when objective, area, training, preference and response support it.
04 · TRY

Pressure communication drill

Dalam supervised practice dan pada safe area, establish consent dan gunakan broad contact. Practice changing pressure gradually while partner gives feedback.

Goal: consistency, communication and control — bukan maximum pressure.
05 · CHECK

Know when local manual work is inappropriate.

AVOID / MODIFY LOCAL WORK

Open wound, significant skin irritation/infection, acute significant swelling/trauma, area lacking safe sensation, or any situation where touch is not consented/appropriate.

STOP & SCREEN

New severe symptoms, significant neurological/vascular changes, marked unexpected reaction or client asks to stop.

REFER / CLARIFY

When presentation is outside scope, diagnosis/tissue status is uncertain in a safety-relevant way, or medical clearance is required.

06 · TEST

Quick Knowledge Check

Client kata pressure terasa terlalu kuat dan mula guarding. Apa response terbaik?

07 · APPLYMINI CASE

Assessment menunjukkan comfortable shoulder movement limitation. Gentle manual input is being considered as one part of the session.

Apa reasoning paling baik?

MANUAL TECHNIQUE SAFETY

Only practise techniques within training and supervision. Avoid high-risk manipulation or forceful techniques not specifically taught and competency-assessed. Manual treatment does not replace medical assessment when red flags or significant acute injury are present.
