Stretching
Stretching bukan wajib untuk semua complaint. Gunakan apabila ia menyokong movement objective, sesuai dengan assessment dan boleh didose tanpa memaksa symptom.
First ask: why stretch?
Provide controlled exposure to a comfortable sensation of stretch.
Sometimes used before a movement or exercise when it helps the session objective.
A simple, repeatable option when client can perform it safely and independently.
Stretching can take different forms.
Useful when control and self-management are priorities.
Dose by sensation, time and response rather than forcing end-range.
Useful when repeated movement better matches the objective.
Requires clear consent, control and appropriate practitioner skill.
Nama stretching kurang penting daripada objective, positioning, dose dan response client.
Control four dosage variables.
Mild/moderate stretch sensation is not the same as sharp or concerning pain.
Hold or movement time should match tolerance and objective.
Enough exposure to practise; not automatic high volume.
Home frequency must be realistic and adjusted by response.
Course ini tidak mengajar satu angka hold/reps sebagai “dos wajib” untuk semua orang. Start conservatively, observe response dan progress based on objective and tolerance.
Stretch prescription drill
Pilih satu low-risk stretch dalam supervised practice. Student mesti boleh explain kenapa ia dipilih dan apa yang akan diretest.
A stretch should feel appropriate — not threatening.
Comfortable sensation, good control, no concerning response.
Excess guarding, symptom escalation or poor position → reduce intensity/range or change approach.
Sharp severe pain, new neurological symptoms, dizziness or other concerning response.
Quick Knowledge Check
Apakah prinsip paling tepat bila menentukan stretch dosage?
Client mahu lebih mudah mencapai kasut. Assessment menunjukkan relevant posterior-chain movement terasa limited tetapi safety screen clear.
Apa approach terbaik?
Do not force stretching through acute significant injury, suspected instability, severe/unusual pain, neurological or vascular symptoms, or other contraindications. Respect surgical/medical precautions and only use assisted techniques within training and competence.
